Bloggers Hangout Event | #BLFW

As some of you will be aware, I went to my first ever blogging event last month! (Late again I hear you cry? Yup, that's me!) It was very daunting, considering I had decided to go alone and only knew of people who were going to be there. The event was hosted by Bloggers Hangout (previously Bloggers Love) and it was intertwined with London Fashion Week. For those of you who aren't aware of Bloggers Hangout, it is a brilliant website where you can RSVP to upcoming events, be gifted by brands and just talk all things blog related. The event was held in the OXO2 on London's South Bank, and wow is it easy to get lost in there!

After aimlessly wandering around on my larry trying to find the room of the actual event, I thought I'd finally found the right place. In my awkward state, I nervously creeped in.. Quite literally. I got pounced on pretty rapidly by a security guard, who mysteriously seemed to appear out of nowhere, then got questioned like I was some kind of serial gatecrasher. I went really red and had the 'please help, I only come with good intentions' look on my face. Thankfully, I was in the right place, I just went in the wrong entrance.. Woe is me.
After arriving properly to the event, I'd met some lovely girls- Jasmine from Soeurs de Luxe, Vanisha from The Life Of Vanisha and Lola from African Remy. They were nice enough to let me tag along with them in my lost sheep state, and we got along really well. I'm looking forward to some more events & meet ups with them in the future! I also bumped into the wonderful Hayley from It's Just Me Hayley D who actually helped blag me a Magnitone after minutes of us meeting. Total babe ;)

Once we had entered the main event there was the DJ situated on the back wall, a Catwalk for the fashion show and a Benefit makeover counter in the middle. I have to say, I definitely fell in love with balloons that had feathers in them, and how everything just looked so perfectly photogenic. It was all open and there was a beautiful view of the River Thames behind each stand. I definitely thought this would be the kind of place where everyone whipped out their huge cameras or looked ridiculously intimidating, but it actually wasn't like that at all. Everyone I met seemed so friendly and approachable. Oh blogosphere, you so nice!

The second room of the event was the gifting lounge (the place I'd originally strolled into!) There were brands such as Kleem Organics, Magnitone, Little Ondine, Maison Ves, Type The Hype and many more! Most of them were so friendly and engaging when it came to chatting about their brand. I'd never really heard of any of these before besides Magnitone, so I'm glad I got to find out more about some great new companies, and get lots of bits to sample & share with you all! I promise there are reviews to come!

We all stayed pretty much until the end of the event, this meant we could have more in depth chats with the brands, without it being too rushed or bustling with people! We even got to eat Little Ondine's left over macaroons (no shame!)

All in all, it was a fab evening and I was so exhausted, not to mention dehydrated by the time I got home! I'm so happy that I took the plunge and went by myself, it was a great experience and I definitely didn't leave feeling disappointed. I can't wait to attend more events in the future!

Did you go to Bloggers Love Fashion Week?
If you didn't, what has been your favourite event this year? :)
