Cute Gardens & Fields Of Happiness

Yesterday was such a fun and spontaneous day of adventures. I'm lucky enough to live in Sussex which has some of the most beautiful photogenic hot spots I've ever come across. To begin with, the day didn't seem that nice. It had sunny intervals with some big ass clouds that just seemed to be lingering.. Nothing new really! I was determined that a few clouds couldn't put us off, so we set off to Highdown Gardens in Worthing.

Jack and I went back in May and it was the most colourful, pretty place I'd ever seen. There were blossom trees, bluebells and daisies - basically all the aesthetically pleasing flowers you could imagine. This time, most of the pretty flowers seemed to have gone but it didn't really matter because it was still nice to enjoy a spot of sunshine! I took my camera up hoping for some nice Instagram & blog photos (all for the blog) and I hadn't really had a chance to wear my new dress yet. I let Jack play with the camera to keep him amused and he ended up taking some awesome shots. I knew he was a little budding photographer at heart!

The latter half of the day consisted of a spontaneous trip to Roundstone PYO Farm in Worthing. This is such a nostalgic place for me because my family always used to have cute picnics here, followed by a bit of bat and ball and some strawberry picking. It's such a happy place and it is enormous. You can pick pretty much any fruit or vegetables you like and most probably make a day of it. If you don't fancy any of the hard work, there is a cute little farm shop and tearooms aswell.

Although we didn't actually do any fruit picking, Roundstone is known for having some huge corn fields which are perfect for some cute snaps. Last time we went up there, it didn't go so well but that's a story for another day haha! I really wanted some cute outfit shots, so Jack snapped some and we hopped on the tractor ride back down to head home. I'm so glad we ended up going here because I had such a fun day and I think Jack secretly enjoyed it too. He even let me drive his car around the car park and now I am certain I want a Mini Cooper! Oh well, a girl can dream..!

How was your weekend? :)

  3. So beautiful. Even though I love cities, I love being outside amongst pretty plants and woodlands just as much - and if the trip is spontaneous, even better! The farm shop and tearooms sound like a dream. I can't remember the last time I had a scone, haha! I'm glad to hear you and Jack had a good time :-)

  6. What an awesome weekend! I love heading to the same gardens (we have a good sized botanical gardens in my home town) at different times of the year to watch it change. I think it's a lot of fun. Spring and Autumn are easily my favourite times to go.

I haven't been to a PYO place in years! Not since I moved to Belgium from the UK. It's something we used to do all the time as kids. I keep hoping to be back in the UK during the summertime to get some PYO strawberries but I never seem to plan my holidays like that!

    Have an awesome weekend!
