The Summer Lip Edit

For ages, I've been promising myself (in my head) that I'll post more beauty on here. It's not that I haven't wanted to, I just find I cover most of what I love in my monthly favourites posts. It's no lie that I have a lot of makeup; however when looking at my collection, it's obvious where the real obsession lies.. Lip Products. Can a girl ever have enough?

Now Summer in England is in full swing (sort of) I suddenly go crazy for a particular shade of lipstick. Last year, it had to be the bright reds. This year on the other hand, I am quite literally obsessed with nudes/pinks. I mean they suit everyone, right? You just can't go wrong!  I thought I'd narrow down which ones I've been using the most during the last few months and share them with you!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm.
This is a product I pretty much fell in love with as soon as I bought it. Obviously anything matte tickles my fancy and this is just that. It is a lovely mid-tone beige pink, which goes on creamy and dries a soft matte. The product smells like vanilla ice cream and if it was allowed, I'd totally eat it. It's not the most moisturising of liquid lipsticks and due to the nature of the product it can be quite drying on the lips. If you're wanting to use these, be sure to keep your lips well exfoliated and moisturised before using.

I recently went talked about this product in my May Favourites, so I won't go on about it too much; it just had to make the cut for this post. The formula is longer lasting than NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, feels super velvety and isn't drying on the lips. I would say it lasts around 3-4 hours before you need to think about re-applying. Like NYX, this smells just like Vanilla too - four for you scented lip products. This nude shade is much more of a deep pink with beige undertones, which is a lot more subtle on the lips but still gives a slight pop of colour. The applicator is soft with flat sides to make it that little bit easier to apply.

Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Nude Pop.
Admittedly, I do only really manage to pick up higher end lipsticks as freebies with magazines #noshame. This came free with Glamour Magazine a while back now and I'm so glad it did because it's fab. I love the lipstick formulation so much, it's so moisturising and leaves you with a beautiful demi-matte finish. The colour is more of a pinky-nude shade and definitely the most subtle one I own. The product claims to last 8 hours, although I do find I need to top this up after eating or drinking. In addition to all of this, the product is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free, for those of you who struggle to find one that works for you.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish By Kate Moss in 38.
Rimmel Lipsticks will always have my back - they are definitely my favourite drugstore lip brand. This is probably the brightest pale pink I own and I do feel like this is a colour that would only suit certain skin tones. This suits me more with a bit of a tan or bronzed look and darker hair. When my hair was going through a bit of a ginger phase, this didn't suit me at all as I found the peachy tones clashed with my copper locks. I love how reasonable Rimmel Lipsticks are and I do find they have great pigmentation and stay power for their price, particularly the darker shades.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob.
If I can trust Rimmel Lipsticks, then it's almost certain that I can trust their lip liners. This is a beautiful dark pink lip liner which isn't too striking but also not too nude. I personally like to wear this as a lipstick because it gives such a pretty, matte finish. The liner itself is retractable which I find fab because who has time to sharpen these days?! It stops your lipstick from bleeding and the stay power is great, even when eating or drinking; I can probably get about 3-4 hours wear from this.

NYX Slide On Lip Liner Pencil In Nude Suede Shoes.
Isn't that the cutest name ever for a lip liner? Either that or extremely cool. This shade can only be described as nude with pink undertones. It's a waterproof lip liner which is the best ever and I can get so much wear out of it before it even starts to show signs of coming off. Again, I also like to apply this all over my lips as the pigmentation is great. It's matte, not drying and it really does glide on like the name says!

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? If not, what are your favourites this Summer? :)
