January Favourites

January Favourites 2017

So, January happened. Does that mean the blues will officially be over and the blogging slumps will kindly get in the bin? I don't know about you, but I really hope so!

I tried a lot of new products over Christmas and New Year, some of which featured in my 2016 Favourites Round Up because I loved them so much! Since then, I've had loads of other things to try out, so hopefully there is something for everyone here!

Ps. I also filmed this as my FIRST chatty Youtube video which is at the bottom of this post (eek!), but when I was taking pictures for this post, I did accidentally miss out the L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation (please bear with me!). Instead, I'll just let you listen to my poor explanations for yourself if you do want to know more!

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips - 125ml | £17.00 | Here

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips

Although the thought of oil on my face make me cringe up a little, in reality it's not actually that bad. Funnily enough, this time last year I was raving about the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balmwhich actually featured in my last January Favourites.

I prefer the Take The Day Off Makeup Remover Oil compared to the balm, as I find it feels much more hygienic applying this with a cotton pad, rather than your bear hands. Although this specifies it should be used on eyes and lips, I do use this all over my face too as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Take The Day Off Oil itself (plus, I got a set of 3 in Duty Free for super cheap and didn't actually realise they weren't the same!) LOL.

I feel like this takes a lot less time and product to remove any stubborn makeup (even waterproof), it doesn't sting your eyes unlike the balm and it's a great pre-cleanse before your day/night cleanser! It's also fragrance free and suitable for any skin type!

L'Avoly 10 in 1 Leave-in Treatment* | RRP £15.99 | Here

L'Avoly 10-in-1 Leave In Hair Treatment

For someone who suffers with damaged hair from bleaching, this is the most life-changing hair product I may have ever used! It's a simple, cream gel you apply onto wet hair which isn't sticky and glides into your hair with ease. Now, 10-in-1 is no lie! This is designed to detangle, protect your hair from heat damage, protects from split ends, chlorine and salt, frizz controlling, boosts shine, moisturises and also includes a colour saver.

I don't know how to describe the smell of this other than 'hairdresser fresh', if you know what I mean?! It's not too overpowering and the product distributes evenly through your hair! I use about a pump and a half of this as my hair is medium length, but quite thick. Basically, you just need to tailor it to your hair type. Since using this, my hair has been in much better condition and now I don't find I reach for anything else!

If you are able to get your hands on this, I'd 100% recommend it as it's fab!

Makeup Revolution Iconic Lights And Contour Pro Palette | £8.00 | Here

Makeup Revolution Iconic Lights And Contour Pro Palette

Makeup Revolution are literally go-to brand for most products I buy! I got this palette for Christmas, as I'd heard it's an amazing dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit.. at just a fraction of the price! MUR, and the whole TAM Beauty range have the best dupes EVER.

This is so highly pigmented in just one dab of your brush and blends amazingly. It has the perfect range of matte and shimmer shades in both highlight and contour, to help you create the perfect look for any time of the day. My personal favourite is the banana shade for setting my under eye concealer and the lighter, matte contour shade for defining my cheek bones.

If a night on the town is on the cards, I'll definitely reach for the more intense darker browns for more definition! All in all, I'm obsessed and I've used it every day since getting it!

NYX Cosmic Metals Lip Cream in 08 Speed Of Light | £7.00 | Here

NYX Cosmic Metals Lip Cream in 08 Speed Of Light

I never thought metallic lips would fair well with me but I have to say, they are probably the most compatible lip products I've ever worn to match my pale skin tone. I picked up the shade Speed Of Light for the sheer reason I love copper (and I was in a bloody NYX store in the middle of Amsterdam.. I KNOW!).

The formula of these are quite tacky, non-drying and shiny AF. They last a few hours before needing to re-apply (depending on how messy you are when eating and drinking). I never thought I'd be able to pull off such a colour but I am now obsessed. I've been reaching for this mainly if I go out for a meal or a night out, but this can also be worn in the day too!

A Little Book Of Hygge by Meik Wiking | £5.00 | Here

Admittedly, I haven't actually finished this book yet but it is definitely one you wouldn't finish in one go. I like this, as you can come back to it when you feel like you need some piece of mind or just a little boost of happiness. There are some really valuable lessons and tips in this book to help you feel as 'hygge' as you possibly can. Some are actually so cool like lighting for instance! I highly recommend that you read it!

What did you love last month? :)
