13 Reasons I Love Autumn

As I write this, it's currently a very gloomy, wet day outside. Just what I like when I don't have any outdoor plans after work and I know I can just get home, jump into the PJ's and stick a nice warm jumper on - all guilt free! Autumn itself has to be my favourite season, because it's not too warm and not too cold. The smell of barbecues fizzle out and the smell of bonfires start to creep in. There is something about the smell of the air in Autumn, which makes me incredibly excited for the build up to winter! (Forgive me if that sounds weird..)

1. Halloween

I can't stress enough how much I have always loved October and the build up to good old Halloween! Pumpkin Carving, Dressing Up, Horror Films, Events, Decorations, Baking.. The works! Best time of the year!

2. Tulleys Farm Shocktober Fest

Although this basically ties in with Halloween, this is so good that I feel like it deserves it's very own category! If you've never heard of Tulleys before, it's a Halloween festival based near Crawley running on set days throughout October. They have live horror mazes, terrifying actors running loose, live music and quirky little food and drink stands to keep you going through the night.

They've added another 4 mazes this year *squeals* so needless to say, it gets better and better each year! Tulleys never fails to impress or break my voicebox from the amount of shrieking that occurs. This is probably my favourite evening of the entire year and I turn into an excited puppy just thinking about it!

If you'd like to know more about it, you can find all the information you need on their website here. IT'S SO WORTH IT!

3. Hot Drinks

Sadly I'm not a Pumpkin Spiced Latte fan, but any hot chocolate or caramel flavoured coffee will do nicely thanks! ;)

4. Spicy Candles

I already have my stash of Christmas candles from Primark & Yankee Candle burning away in the background each night, but I definitely need to find a way for Bath And Body Works to ship me their entire autumnal candle range to my door. You can never have too many candles <3

5. The Fashion

Knitwear, bobble hats, ankle boots and tartan print scarves? Yes please!

6. Seeing Your Breath

The dreams of being a dragon when you're a kid never really die, do they?!

7. Wellies

Jumping into piles of leaves and puddles, not giving a damn because you know those bad boys are going to save you from the knee down.

8. Hooded Fleece Blankets

Not just any ol' blankets.. Hooded fleece blankets! Yep, they do exist! They are incredibly soft and they keep you much warmer than your everyday ones. Plus they are so cute and cosy!

9. Fluffy Socks

Those two words are like joy to my ears. My feet are constantly cold throughout the year, meaning I have to wear socks or slippers pretty much 24/7. So when the weather starts getting just a fraction colder, the whole cosy sock collection comes out of hibernation, ready to save my feet from the freezing temperatures!

10. Walks

There's something very satisfying about taking walks in the countryside on a brisk, autumn day. Especially when the sun is really low in the sky and peeks through the trees.. Instagram eye candy right there.

11. Baths

Now I love baths all year round, but as the months start to get colder, I am virtually stocking up at Lush every other week and forcing my bank account to hate me.. Whoopsie!

12. Fairy Lights
Acceptable all year round, but 10x cuter in the winter!

13. Fires/ Woodburners
I find it really mesmerising having a bonfire or getting the fire going indoors. Unfortunately, we can't light ours anymore as it reeks of gas whenever we put it on, probably making it quite dangerous.. But my Dad has the most awesome wood burner in his house which I could sit next to and watch all day!

What are your favourite things about Autumn?
