August Favourites

August Favourites

August is overrrrrrr (if anyone got that We The Kings reference, I love you.) In all seriousness though, where did it go?! More importantly, where is this year going? I guess that's a good thing that we're speeding into September as Jack and I go to Mykonos in 2 weeks! (Any travel guides left in the comments will be fully appreciated!) I managed to just about muddle together some favourites for this post, as I've been trying not to buy too much this month. Here's what I've been loving!

COLAB Active Dry Shampoo | Here | £1.98 (Offer)

COLAB Active Dry Shampoo

I am seriously addicted to COLAB Dry Shampoo, I literally rate so much - I would even go as far as saying I like it more than Batiste. This particular dry shampoo has come out fairly recently  and it's supposed to be good for people who are constantly 'on-the-go'. I feel like that speaks to me on so many levels (for the most part) and it does an amazing job of keeping my hair looking fresh (even if I haven't washed it for 4 days..)

The packaging is gorgeous and even if I didn't need a new dry shampoo, I think I would have found any excuse to buy it anyway. Secondly, it was on offer in Superdrug (I find it hard to say no) and thirdly, it's invisible. There's nothing worse than having a seriously white, talcy dry shampoo. This claims too 'refresh, protect and condition' and also has UV & pollution protection! I can confirm that statement is totally on point!

Freedom Makeup London Pro Correct Palette | Here | £5.00

Freedom Makeup London Colour Correction Palette

Where the heck has colour correction been all my life? (Excuse how well loved it already looks!) This has helped with my under eye bags so much and makes my skin looks totally flawless once I'm all made up! It's a cream based palette which blends like an absolute dream - with a brush or a Beautyblender. Another thing to love about this product is that it's so compact and doesn't take up too much space in your makeup collection.

As for the colours, I had no idea until Pinterest saved my arse with their endless colour correction charts! I use the green to correct any redness or blemishes, purple to rid the yellowy skin tones and the peach to correct my dark circles. If I use this under my concealer now, my under eye bags are 10x less visible. I'm so impressed with it and the difference it makes is unreal. If you haven't tried colour correcting yet, I'd highly recommend it!

Freedom Make Up London Pro Artist Pad - Black Arts | Here | £15.00

Freedom Make Up London Pro Artist Pad - Black Arts

This is technically not an August Favourite, as I got this palette in the Make Up Revolution 2nd Birthday goodie bag back in March; however, I've only just dug it out again. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long because it's definitely the palette of dreams. There are the perfect mixture of pigmented matte and shimmer shades, which basically cater for any look - all at such an affordable price! There are colours to suit everyone, and even some more daring ones if you're feeling like rocking a smokey eye!

Seventeen All In One Magic BB Balm | Here | £4.99

Seventeen All In One Magic BB Balm

I've had this BB Balm for quite a while now. In the last month or so, I've pretty much used this every single day. I've had a few people ask what I'm using because my skin looks 'flawless' which is huge for a BB balm, right?! The consistency I found a little difficult to get on with at the beginning, and I have to say, it's nothing like I've ever used before.

I have to apply this using my fingers due to the consistency, as I once used a brush and it clogged the crap out of it! Lol oops. That aside, the finish it leaves on my skin is the equivalent to a full coverage foundation - without that heavy feeling! As for the condition of my skin, I don't feel as though I've had as many blemishes either (and if I have that's due to my eating and drinking habits!) This also has SPF 25 in, which is great because I always forget to put sunscreen on my face! This is definitely a product to look out for!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in 07 Sandstorm | Here | £6.50

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in 07 Sandstorm
I mentioned this recently in my payday beauty haul and I literally can't rate it enough! It's the perfect brown toned nude shade, which isn't too light but dark enough to be noticeable - which I love.. A lot! It leaves a matte finish without drying out the lips and you get the biggest tube! The applicator has flat sides (similar to the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color) which I think makes it much easier to apply the product! I rate these way more than my NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream's and I can't wait to try more shades!

New Look Green Spiky Artificial Succulent Plant | Here | £4.99

I thought I'd include my beloved little artificial plant, as I am legit obsessed with the New Look Home section at the moment. It's all so aesthetically pleasing, glittery and cute! If I could buy it all, I totally would. This little succulent has made a great photo prop lately, and when it's not being put to good use, it still looks fab on my bedside table! All of that and it's copper.. Need I say more?

What did you love in August? Have you tried any of these? :)

  4. That dry shampoo sounds fab! I've tried Batiste before but it didn't make a difference to my hair so I'm definitely adding this one to my shopping list! That eyeshadow palette is also amazing, every shade is right up my street!!!
