2017 To-Do List

2017 To-do List

It's no lie that sticking to New Years Resolutions has never really been my 'thing'. I'm just a bit of a go-with-the-flow kinda gal and if I stick to something then great, if I don't then I don't. To be honest, that method in life has never got me anywhere and I really want 2017 to be the year of BIG changes. For once in my life, I actually feel ready to make stuff happen, so here's to the next chapter!

Yes, this is in capitals because it's seriously my number one priority this year! I've been stuck in a rut for far too long and I've really let my lack of confidence and anxiety hold me back big time. Fingers crossed a new challenge isn't far away!

2. Improve my blog photography and learn more about my camera.
Winter is a bloggers worst nightmare for taking photos. Working during the day usually means natural light is virtually non-existent by home time. Thankfully, I've got a soft box now (and a serious lack of space to go with it) but it's really helped with those gloomy evenings, meaning I'm less restricted light-wise and I get to experiment with different settings! If anyone has any posts on blog photography, please let me know!

3. Re-register for the dentist and actually go.
Ugh, it's boring and mundane but I have been putting this task off for years (7 to be precise!). In fact it's been so long that my dentist kicked me off their books. LOL. The reason I haven't been is because I dread that I will need all this expensive and painful work done. I know that it's a lose lose, as leaving it this long will probably mean I need a zillion fillings and root canals *vom*. Either way, I need to man up and go asap!

4.  Reply to texts/ messages quicker.
I am one of those people who is infuriating to text because unless it's life or death - don't expect a reply for about 6 weeks.. or ever. To most people, it probably comes across that I am rude, but that's definitely not the case - I'm just super forgetful and very easily distracted!

5. Make more of an effort to meet up with friends.
During the latter half of 2016 especially, I definitely neglected everyone. I'm not proud of it and I did kind of let blogging takeover all my free time. As much as I love it, I need to get into a schedule and pre-plan posts to make more time for friends and family. So far, it seems like that's already off to a good start and it feels good! :)

6. Start a Youtube channel.
After multiple chatty snapchats to try and get used to talking to a camera, I really want to start up Youtube properly this year - as in more than just travel vlogs! My friend Jasmine and filmed a few test videos for our own up and coming channel, but I'd really like to have my own as well to intertwine with this blog! What do you think?

7. Budget & manage money!
Dear adulting, why are you so hard? I swear as soon as payday hits, it's like the day never came? Temptation often gets the better of me when I'm 'window shopping', so I'm definitely going to try and tame that addiction and set myself an amount to spend each week to see if that helps! (Aaaaand.. Stop buying Costa Coffee and KFC like my life depends on it..)

This kind of ties in with the last pointer, but holidays are a big must to keep me sane and sunned! However, amazing adventures require money.. and lots of it! Jack and I are looking to visit New York and Boston early next year, so I'm going to be saving like a saint this year, as well as hopefully keeping my finances under control!

9. Have a healthier lifestyle.
Okay, you do only live once, but sometimes I think I need to overlook that and think of how much weight I will pile on if I'm not careful. Although I'm not really that much of a fan of many vegetables, I do want to start experimenting with fruit and try to make my own smoothies/juices! Not only that, I need to start exercising more, even if that means walking to the shop instead of relying on my car.

I think that's it for now! I will make sure I add to this list if I think of anymore to add!

What is on your 2017 to-do list? :)

  1. I love this post! I'm also starting YouTube this year, would be cool to do a collab. Maybe about Brighton? :) xxx

    1. Thank you! :) Oooh definitely! That sounds fab! xxxx

  2. I would love to watch your YouTube channel, I hope you achieve everything that you want to, especially getting a new job! xx

  3. I'm also one to either check messages and forget about responding or just miss them completely! I hadn't thought about including this in my new years resolutions, but I do think I'm going to have to work out an action plan to stop doing it, haha! Wishing you lots of luck for this year - I hope it's a good one! :-)

    1. Haha! It's definitely not one of the better habits, but still! We should definitely see if we've both improved at the end of the year haha! Thank you, you too! :) xxx

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog! I appreciate all of the lovely comments and I will always return! :)
